The key to making the Walldogs on Nicollet project is a success this summer is you. We need your time, talent, and energy to make sure everything goes smoothly and get’s done this summer. The following is the current volunteer schedule and a list of volunteer job descriptions. Please take a moment and let us know how you can help.

Monday, July 21st - Wednesday, July 23rd

Help get everything ready for the Walldogs meet. If you have time during the day just give Sarah a call at 612.824.9402 ext 12.

Help project the mural images on Tuesday & Wednesday night. Meet at the LNA Office at 9 pm.

Saturday, July 26th

Walldogs Family Friendly Art Activities
MLK Park, 1 to 5 pm, (shifts available)

  • Set up & Clean Up
  • Staff booths
  • Assist performers and festival goers

Walldogs Block Party
Zion Lutheran Church, 5 – 11 pm, (shifts available)

  • Set-up and clean up (set up starts at noon)
  • Help prep and serve food
  • Assist performers and festival goers

July 24-27
Painting Shifts, all day (still available)
Artist and Visitor Support, all day – help keep the sites supplied, direct visitors, and more shifts still available.

SPECIFIC JOB DESCRIPTIONS

Site Managers
(1 Team per Site - each team should have 2 to 4 people)
Site managers are responsible for working with the lead artist to manage each site's activities. This includes getting people signed in and organized. Handling questions from people stopping by and taking care of the site's needs.

Site Managers are also responsible for helping to plan site activities - this may include: music, extra treats, kids activities, etc. At least someone from each Site Manager team is expected to be at the morning briefings and on site at all times during the day.

Site Manager Tasks
• Be responsible for working with the lead artist for the overall management of the site
• Daily site manager meetings
• Site set-up & clean-up
• Keep supplies stocked
• Help to keep track of volunteers on site
• Be an emergency contact at the site
• Attend site manager planning and training meetings prior to the meet.

Assistant to the Lead Artist
Assistant to the lead artists will be skilled artists who can work with the lead artist(s) at each site to help organize the painting and to train people in on to paint.

Artist & Site Support Volunteers
These volunteers will work out of the LNA office to help make sure that the sites have everything that they need. This will include a lot of running back and forth, picking things up and delivering them.

Sign-in & Information Table
These volunteers will be responsible for staffing tables at both the LNA office building and at MLK Park. Registered artists will be able to sign in and pick up their information at the LNA office. Both locations will also have a variety of Walldogs merchandise for sale.

Event Planning and Coordination
We are looking for some to people to help plan and coordinate all of the events taking place during the Walldogs meet this July. The teams we’re putting together are for:

• Project lunches
• Thursday night event at MLK Park
• Saturday night Street Dance at Zion Lutheran Church
• Family Day Activities on Saturday in MLK Park

Art Assistant(s)
We’re looking for one to two people who can help us get the arts side of the project organized. This could include helping us find old photos and information on sites, researching information on materials for the artists, etc.

Host Homes
We’re looking for people who are willing to host out of town artists in their homes over the course of the meet. Volunteer Coordinators We’re looking for two to three people who can help us organize and manage the volunteer parts of this project. What we’re looking for is people who can help us match up volunteer tasks with volunteer interests.
